Parking at UO/Off campus Apts

Hi,

I'm actually a perspective chem grad student and I visited campus this past weekend. From what I understand biking, taking the bus and walking are the most common forms of transportation but, I think I'd like to have a car (especially since I've gone the past four years without one) for grad school. Anyway, of those that apply for a parking permit, are most applicants awarded a permit? And where do they park? (I don't actually remember seeing too many parking structures.)

Secondly, if anyone has any good suggestions as to where to look for off-campus apartments, it would be greatly appreciated! :-) Also, are there any areas to stay away from? (i.e. areas with frequent parties or that are REALLY run down... )

Thanks for any help!!!

I suggest that you logon to livejournal.com and visit the UO site
<a href="http://community.livejournal.com/uoregon/profile%5B/url%5D">http://community.livejournal.com/uoregon/profile</a></p>

It's not a terribly busy site but there are several people who monitor and are very helpful and knowledgeable about UO and housing. Also, if you work your way back through the posts you will find answers to some of the questions you are asking.

It is more likely you will get help there than here as I doubt many current students visit CC.com.
