off-campus apartments and parking

Ok, im going to live in century and I have no parking. What can/should I do? Im assuming parking permits are sold out, but do they sell additional permits the first week of school or anything like that? whats everyone else doing?

First of all, congrats on getting into USC! That's quite an accomplishment.

This Fall '05, I'll be a Jr majoring in Chemical Engineering (ChE)...I've heard that Century Apts is good for independent types (it's actually being renovated now). However, if you want to have the full college experience, then without a doubt, live in a dorm (I recommend Birnkrant) during your first year (You'll have plenty of time to experience off campus housing after frosh yr). You won't regret the experience; it'll help you adjust socially and academically. Just call housing and find out how to switch (it's fairly common, even mid-semester).

If you dont plan to use a car often, consider parking at the Parking Center (which might still be available). It'll save u $$, and the trams will get you to campus easily. You don't really need a car, IMHO...

Visit USC Transportation services for more parking information: http://transnet.usc.edu/
As stated on the site: " We will be holding a resale of student permits for 2005-2006 on July 18, 2005 at 12:00pm PST. The sale will be held online only at this site. "

I hope this all works out for the best!

Fight On!
