<p>I know that I should really call the DOTS office for this, but they're only open when I am at work. Last year I got a parking permit for the whole year and it expires at the end of August. However, since this year I will be going abroad, it would be stupid for me to do that again. I went online to register for just a fall permit, and it shows that those expire on the last day of classes, NOT including finals. Is everyone just given a free ride during finals? How do people deal with that? Also, do any of you know if you need to be registered for summer classes to be eligible for a summer permit?</p>
<p>I know that for both fall and spring DS took his car up for that week and he did not have a pass. I also recall that in front of the dorms they had the meters covered up. SO I would say, yes it is a free ride. I think they don’t care about the permits during finals because there is less demand for parking, plus Mom and Dan are coming to pick up their little one!</p>
