If I was denied a parking permit, what are my options and what are the most reasonable/convenient places where I can park my car? I know about the pay stations but those are rather expensive. I will only need to park my car about 2-3 times a week for about 7-8 hours.

$8 a day.
street parking (most are metered though).
lots in westwood.
take the bus.
walk.

Actually it isn't $8 per day. If you park for only 2 hours, you only need to pay $5.

i got parking! yay!! now i think i have to drop my housing contract :(

I was denied. How can I appeal? I don't wanna take bus cuz lots of homeless men looking extremely crazy sleep on the only street that I can walk to the bus station.

how were u guys denied parking? no job? are u guys dorming?

I've no job and live in WLA. sigh

My address is near UCLA on the map but I take 30 minutes from home to school. (I mean driving) :(

Buy parking off people who live in apartments. Like the closer ones, off Gayley or Kelton. Most of them range around 100/month, I think.

That's a bit more difficult during the school year, but it also depends where your classes are.

O gosh... i was denied too. what to do, what to do... Are there any public parking lots where we can pay some sort of flat fee for the whole day? I don't want to have to park where there's a meter all the time.

There's free parking off Kelton, Veteran, Gayley, etc. But you have to move the car on certain mornings (I think thurs or fri?) for street cleaning. That would work if you don't mind driving around looking for parking spaces.

Thanks sofakingwangsta! Btw, is the bus stop on westwood+wilshire too far of a walk to North and South campuses?

lately i've seen people renting their space for over $200. which is freaking ludicrous. but they're justifying that the premium is adjusted now that apron parking isn't available.

some people still might be offering in the $100 range though.

oh and don't forget that street parking mon-sat is two hour only between 8 and 6. so even if there isn't street cleaning, unless you can get one of the few all-day spots on veteran (alll the way down by the cemetery), you have to move every 2 hours. and not just like 2 feet. they enforce that you can't be anywhere on the same block.

This sounds perfect. Wilshire Express and a Campus Express if necessary.

BoelterHall, so you're saying I can get off at westwood+wilshire and then in the westwood village area get on a campus shuttle? If not, is there any option similar to this one? (ie. are there free shuttles from the westwood area to the actual campus?). Thanks.

sorry if I sound stupid, but what's apron parking?

If you can get off a Metro or any bus that stops at Westwood-Wilshire, you can walk around the Wilshire Center building to Midvale I think, and around the corner, the Wilshire Express comes by every 8-10 minutes for round trips to the hospital and Lot 2. This is free.

Cars parked illegally on driveways that portrude onto the sidewalk, a problem in the apartments.
There was an article about this recently in the Daily Bruin.

What the heck??? I was denied at first but now they suddenly offer me lot 3?!
I didn't file for appeal at all. Weird.
