I'm commuting to UCSD and I heard it's a waste of time to buy the parking permit, because there's never any spots open. My classes are at like 9:30 on T/Th and 1 something MWF so idk those aren't really early. So I'm thinking about taking a bus or a shuttle. Where is there parking around UTC? I don't want to park at the mall, because I heard they mark tires...I don't know if that's true. I just need options...

Oh yeah, my classes for Fall Quarter are at Campus Center for some days and somewhere in Marshall for the others…

Where do you live? Are you close to a bus stop that goes to UCSD?

You can park at the UTC shopping mall and take the 201 loop to campus. You can park somewhere on nobel close to regents and take the 202 or arriba shuttle, or you can park on arriba at the end of regents and take the arriba shuttle.

Thanks. That’s really helpful!

There’s rarely a parking spot available on the main campus during class hours, but there are always parking spaces on the regents lots. There’s a shuttle every 10 minutes or so, which isn’t too bad.

sorry to hijack, but where do we buy the permits? i’m driving to ucsd and hoping to stay there with my car for the quarter, but idk where to get a permit. on campus, or online? and will finan aid cover it?

@op9no2,
In Tritonlink. There’s a link under finances called “Purchase Parking Permit”.

Does security at UTC ticket students who park there?

I would also recommend either parking at the Ralphs lot on Villa La Jolla or the Vons lot on Regents Road and then taking the campus shuttles. UTC buses take forever. Or just buy the parking pass and park in the Regents lot, tons of shuttles that come very frequently.

i dont think financial aid covers parking permits which sucksssss :(
