I am enrolled in a Virginia community college and have a decent GPA (should be 3.6 by the end of the spring) with 21 credits. I plan to finish my associates, or at least get close to finishing before transferring. I am and have been enrolled 3/4 time for the past two semesters for financial reasons. I also plan on bringing my GPA up to 3.75-3.8. With my stats, does anybody think that being enrolled part time will hurt my chances of transferring into a good school (in top 50)?
This shouldn’t be a problem at all. Schools just admit based on credit hours awarded and GPA received (some do require high school transcripts and test scores as well).
Your only concern should be whether you can apply to certain schools with your stats. Many colleges do not accept transfers with less than 30 credit hours or a certain GPA (your GPA looks fine, though).
Right, I’m trying to get closer to 60 before I transfer; I’m going to do another 2 semesters plus a summer (or maybe two ). Thanks!
You should be fine with that GPA and 60 credit hours. Good luck!
