Hey. I’m actually the same age and in a similar situation. Which programs are you looking at? Which part of the country are you in?
East Coast. Looking primarily east coast, but would be great to move out west. IF i get into a top program anywhere in the country, I’d move though to be honest.
Most topmost MBA programs are full time only. Northwestern and UChicago offer part time MBA’s but they are the exception.
Are you looking at NYU/USC level schools?
yes, NYU/USC/UCLA/UVA level schools work as well. Another thing I would like to add is that i took a grad level Case Analysis class during my undergrad and got the best grade in the class (A)
I think you have a great chance for any school you apply to.
Many many schools offer a part time MBA. I would look at which one would get you the most value.
Look in your city first for on-campus part MBA.
Talk to current and past part time MBA students as well.
Yep. Good chance at many PT MBA programs.
Your work experience and your GMAT/GRE put you in line for a school like NYU part-time. I’m sure you know that your GPA is going to be the issue. That said, you do stand a shot. I’ve seen these schools admit students with your GPA, if their GMAT is strong enough.
Do some formal prep for the GMAT, to see if you can crack 700. Maximize your GMAT score, because it can help balance out your GPA. And apply to some backup schools - good part time programs like BU and BC and Babson. And since you mentioned wanting finance, also to Fordham. They feed into the NYC financial market.
