<p>Hey guys, I am thinking about pursuing my mba on a part-time basis. I do realize that NYU is a lot higher ranked school than Rutgers but from what I read, people seem to suggest that getting into a top ranked school is really crucial if you are going to it on a full time basis. At NYU, you are not allowed to participate in the same career fairs and the career center as the full-time students. You cannot ever change from part time to full time according to the website to get around this.</p>
<p>With that in mind, should I still aim for NYU over Rutgers? The benefits of Rutgers is that it's more convenient as I live in Piscataway/New Brunswick and work at Newark and it's more affordable. My employer will cover 90% of tuition up to a maximum of 12,000.</p>
<p>Does it make a difference whether I go to Rutgers vs NYU if I'm going as a part time student?</p>
<p>Also, I cannot do full time. I've come from a very poor (poverty level) background meaning no safety net if everything don't go right.</p>
