On the activities section of the new Common App, under participation, if you don't know exactly how many hours you spent on the activity per week or how many weeks per year, do you just ballpark the number or leave it blank? It's not required to answer it.

Thanks

Also for “details, honors won, and accomplishments”, can you write as much as you want to to describe the extracurricular activity? Do you even have to, or would it look bad if you don’t?

It’s expected that you would give an estimate of your time involvement and a quick explanation of the activity, unless the title of the activity is so self explanatory that no further description is helpful.

There is actually very limited room for the description, so be precise and concise.

Ballpark. It need not be scientifically precise, but it should be a reasonable estimate and must be honest.
