Parties at Fordham

How are the parties at Fordham? I got in as a transfer for business. The party scene doesn't suck does it? I go to Syracuse right now and parties are great there.

For me, the pros of Syracuse is: Made real good friends there, bigger campus, things are more run by students, and no curfew for 3 30 for opposite sex

Fordham: i live 3 blocks from there, but ill be dorming. business school is ranked higher. it is in nyc, so i can still see my best friends

i think both are generally ranked near the same area, but fordham a bit higher

in syracuse i was able to drink hard fridays n saturdays n pull off a 3.7 gpa overall

are parties in fordham lame? or is there a party every weekend?

I can almost assure you that Syracuse parties are WAY better than Fordham’s

kc is right, the parties at Syracuse will definitely be better than Fordham. Fordham’s party scene isn’t that great, there’s two types of parties: extremely crowded unable-to-move house parties with bad keg beer or almost empty house parties with bad keg beer. I stick to the bars, its really not worth it.

Honestly, if you have a 3.7 at Syracuse I’d stay there…I know practically no one with a 3.7 at Fordham.

fordham is known to be a school without parties. its very low key because of the strict dorm policies

Because Fordham is located in NYC, you will have a plethora of opportunities to compliment your business studies. About 70% of of students at Fordham complete an internship by the end of their senior year.

The business school also does a great job of organizing career opportunities both on and off campus. There are always recruiters from companies visting the Rose Hill campus for career fairs, interviews, etc. Also, the business school organizes many trips into the city to speak with Fordham alums at their companies, such as Tiffany & Co., Burberry, and Ogilvy and Mather. As a Fordham business student, you will experience the benefits of a top notch school living in the heart of career opportunities.

Typing brochure: that does not answer, or even address, the OP’s question about parties.

Plattsburgh - Thanks for my first giggle on this board.

I wonder how difficult it is for new students to party with friends in the city and get back OK to school.

Does the Ram Van driver carry a gun?

Is it true that students get mugged about once a week?

Does this make our night life more exciting than night life in Syracuse?

carry a gun? this isn’t the south.

The ram van drivers definitely don’t carry guns, but it’s safe, because leaving Lincoln Center, the neighborhood is very safe, and the drop-off at RH is in the middle of campus, so, again, very safe. So I wouldn’t say it’s hard at all to come into the city at night or for weekends.

No, it’s not true that students get mugged once a week. You just have to use your common sense, and not go wandering out alone on Fordham Rd. at 4:00 in the morning. Security issues at LC are even rarer.

Ok, two things. NO Fordham students are NOT targeted for “mugging” and you will be FINE as long as you use common sense.

Secondly…have fun trying to maintain a 3.7 GPA @ Fordham if you are worried about partying. This is FORDHAM UNIVERSITY…not community college. Believe me, they make you work HARD for even a B grade mark. You will be lucky if you can hang on with a 3.0. This is NOT Syracuse…this is Fordham…just keep that in mind.

But if you are still interested, there are about a million and one parties that you can go to within a few blocks of your campus. It’s NYC…of course…there are TONS of parties. You can party 24/7 365 if you like ;).

Rose Hill campus is right next to Arthur Ave. - the safest urban neighborhood in the world . . .fogetaboudit! You just have to know where you are. also, if you and your buddies can’t find a party in NYC, good luck in the business world.
