I was admitted ED in December and I’m ecstatic to be attending such a great university. However, I’m curious as to how parties work up in Evanston. Do you have to be in a frat to find them or…? I’m definitely a very social person and I love to go out with friends, so all help is appreciated.
Thanks!
PS: I realize I probably should’ve asked this before applying lolz
If you’re social, you’ll have no trouble finding out info about parties and such. You don’t have to be in a frat to find them, but it definitely helps to have contacts in frats.
The realistic answer is yes, if you are interested in a lot of partying, especially in your freshman and sophomore years, you should probably join a frat (or become involved in theater). You can definitely have a vibrant social life if you’re not in a frat, but if you’re really interested in stereotypical college-type parties, the only way to ensure this is by joining a frat
Honestly yeah, from what I’ve seen (although I prefer smaller groups, so I don’t party much), most of the freshman, and to some extent the sophomores, rely on frat parties. There are house parties, but those are mostly for upperclassmen.
