Party Scene

Thank you. We’re glad you can see it our way.

Hey Central FC, what ever happened to the professor(s) who taught that class? Di they get fired or reprimanded?

They’re not teaching undergrads anymore, I believe. Being fired would be completely out of line.

I agree…

Just saw an a cappella take on the party scene at NU. Go to YouTube and search on “Northwestern Undertones - I Do Not Hook Up”. :-)

First BC has to pass Tufts in the Boston area for academics - then there might just be an inkling of a basis for discussion.

For the Tufts bashers: Fiske on Tufts: paraphrased: Some academic superstars used to consider Tufts a safety school for some ivies but Tufts isn’t safe anymore, not when it comes to admissions. With strong academics, a high achieving student body, and attractive setting some say that not much separates Tufts from its illustrious neighbors: Harvard and MIT. Tufts gives every indication that it’s going to keep scaling the university ranks until it reaches the summit…Quality of life 4 stars. Overlaps, Brown, Penn, Cornell, Georgetown, Duke, Northwestern. Why the attitude with Tufts?

K&S was actually praising Tufts. Obviously, it’s a great school but is largely overshadowed by its peers in the immediate area.

Thanks. Fiske guide is by former top New York Times education reporter vs US Snooze and World Report, which is pretty much just publishing lists now. I think Fiske is really intelligently done and well researched. They give high marks to Tufts academics, higher than some schools that have higher rankings on US News’ list. Fiske seems to have a more sophisticated take on what makes a college good as opposed to merely popular.

I bet Tufts was on many NU student’s college lists - there are lots of similarities. I think Tufts’ ranking reflects some confusion as to what category it belongs in - is it a university? is it really more of a LAC? It’s kind of a hybrid. In any event Tufts is a great school.

This.

Note - no BC on the list.

Tufts is like ND - strong student body but not a big research school so gets dinged when it comes to academia rankings.

Also, Fiske is being a bit generous w/ Georgetown (which is behind ND).

The thread, is entitled Party Scene… BC is way better in that area…especially on St. Paddy’s Day!!!

lol honestly go rage your face off at BC then. you’re like trying push BC on an online forum. nobody really cares man. sad that BC has to deal with people like you trying to associate themselves with it.

Touicht…touchy…

whoa careful guys we got a cool one here

I know that many of you NU alum enjoy ragging on Tufts. Not only was the Fiske review of Tufts excellent but now the Wall Street Journal-***** lists Tufts as one of its Top 10 New Ivies. This is in addition to the USSnooze & World Report. I see Tufts and Duke on the Wall Street Journal-***** list. NU is absent for some reason. NU should be on this list. Tufts should also get its recognition from you NU alumni…

No one here rags on Tufts. Very few here ever even think about Tufts, since it’s the NU board. ;-D

^ Exactly.

The only person who has brought up “ragging on Tufts” is classclown (how apropos).
