I just laughed at the UVA honor code comment. We pledge to not lie, cheat, or steal. There is nothing in the code about having beer in the dorm...or steam tunneling. Both are just violations of social conduct, insignificant. The admins can't stop it soaking.

"Tennessee has the reputation of being a 'PARTY SCHOOL'. However, it is a dry campus and the rule is enforced. I'm sure there are ways around it, but if you get caught with alcohol, your in serious trouble if your underage. "

hmm, i wouldn't say serious trouble, it's not that big of a deal unless you get multiple citations. but you are right, it is very fun and there is always something to do and the "dry campus" thing is basically a joke. you pretty much have to put up a billboard that says "there is alcohol here" for them to really mess with you or be overly drunk in public

what about SB, i really want to here something positive:'(

its veeeeeeery quiet:p

paranoid, seriously, you need to CALM DOWN. you are going to that school, when you get there you will find your place and if you love it you will stay, if not you can transfer somewhere else. it's not a big deal. every school has different types of people and you will find people who have things in common with you and regardless of its reputation as a party school, it is college and almost all colleges (with the exception of religious schools) have SOME sort of party scene. quit freaking out, it's just gonna make you more and more nervous.

I find it remarkable that you didn't research the social life before you decided to go there.

SB is a great school. I know that the engineering and biology pograms are very good. I think the engineering pogram is associated with that of ucla's. It has a great atmosphere, and a beach. It may not be top ranked but its education is very respectable. My opinion

Wisconsin is the only school in the country where beer is sold in the student union.

UCSB has a Mexican food place called Chilito's in the University Center (our student union equivalent) that sells beer.

thanksUTvol girl....i more relax now, i just hope there are some sort of parties or bars every week:)

connecticut college has a bar right smack in the middle of the student center
