Partying

LOL oh ballet
i took it for a few months when i was six. my parents saw my performance and decided dance is not for me. anything that requires physical movement is not for me...

oh no!!! but it's so much fun!!! i'm not the greatest dancer ever, but i still love it!!! (i'm dragging you out some time. moo ha ha. :D)

hahah ok masha! its a date - a ballet/dance date it is! :D

The problem for me was that dance was taking up my life. I am homeschooled, so I "skipped" certain academics for a few years in order to take lessons at one of the premier dance schools in the country. I had talent, but I did lack necessities (lots of turnout, for example), and I had a swayback, which I have actually about 90% fixed.

I love swing because it is great for everyone, regardless of prior dance experience. My friend who goes swing dancing with me never before danced in his life, and I think he catches on quickly and is doing a good job.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm looking forward to CHICAGO!! A city filled with so much to do in the arts- dancing, theatre, comedy houses etc...-I'm ready to explore the entire city

and opera! two of them!

I was definitely concerned about the social life at Chicago upon matriculating. There is usally a pretty wide range of social activities on campus come Thursday. There is always at least one frat party Friday and/or Saturday. If that isn't your scene, you can definitely go downtown if you have have an ID. Chicago has very few 18+ clubs/bars, so invest in a good ID before coming here. Many people leave campus and spend the weekend at Chicago-area schools (Northwestern, DePaul, etc.) or larger state schools within driving distance (Wisco, UofI, Iowa, IU, ISU, etc.) I'd suggest exploring the options of Greek life when you come in the fall if you want to meet people with similar social habits. Recruitment for sororities is in early October and pledging for frats takes place throughout the year. Definitely don't let a concern about lacking social life be a concern if you're considering Chicago.
