Pasadena City College to UCLA in a year?

Hello,

I've recently decided to shift my focus back to my education and am currently set to attend Pasadena City College in the Summer / Fall 2011. When I first attended PCC in 2007, I had a few friends from high school who were able to complete the 60 units, apply, and were accepted to UCLA and UC Berkeley among others, within a year.

I've done some research and have found myself confused by opposing statements from different sources. I was told that UC's only accept Junior level applications if they have at least 45 units at the time the application is submitted. On the other hand, I've also heard that you will be eligible for transfer as long as you finish your 60 units by the Spring.

I understand that taking 60 units worth of subjects in a single year is tough which is why I'd like to make sure that I am even eligible for a transfer before I start stacking my class load. If anyone has had any (recent) first-hand experience, or has any solid information regarding a transfer in one year I would be extremely grateful! Thanks!

Why don’t you just ask UCLA? They’d be able to give you a definite, legitimate answer while posts on here might lead you wrong.

You need 60 units to transfer, point blank. They only accept junior transfers, which is why you must have 60 units (60 units = Junior, regardless of how many years you’ve attended).

So if you can finish all 60 units within a year, and can maintain a gpa above 3.6 … then i guess it is likely you will be accepted.
