Pass/fail basis

Hey guys I was wondering, I took pass/fail for spanish 1 last year (i was a sophomore) and they excluded me from the A-B honor roll saying a P disqualifies you from the honor roll. I didnt know that, so ill be taking spanish 2 for a regular grade junior year for the AB Honor roll.

Anyone had something like this happen where you got disqualified from AB Honor roll because you took an elective pass/fail?

Also, I took French 1 for a grade, French 2 pass/fail, SPanish 1 pass/fail, and going to take SPanish 2 for a grade. Do you guys think this looks real bad in college admissions in terms of foreign language?

Colleges will guess about what you got where a P/F is shown based upon the other grades. If the others are 98,96,99,100 type grades, ur fine. If they're bad (and that depends on where you want to go), colleges will assume the pass fail grades are bad. since you probably got a simliar grade in teh pass fail class as the for a grade class, its not really going to hurt or help you. and colleges won't even know if you made honor roll more likely than not.

Thank you DMRenrel.

Anyone else?

Bump,

Anyone?

Why did you take them pass/fail in the first place?
Also honor roll doesnt matter for colleges..GPA,grades, rank do

I took Pass/fail basis for French 2 because freshman yr I found that class difficult. I took pass/fail for spanish 1 this year (soph), because I thought if I got like a C it would look real bad on the report card/transcript. However I found out getting a P disqualifies you for the AB honor roll, and I managed to get least B's in Spanish 1. Thank God honor roll dont count for college Apps, yet im wondering if it was better to get like a Cplus for a subject over a P, because im wondering if a P in your fresh and sop yrs disqualifies you for any stuff like financial scholarships, national honor roll, etc.

Ill be taking spanish 2 for a grade next yr(Jr yr), so itll be French 1 (B in middle school), French 2(freshman yr-P), Spanish 1 (Soph yr-P), and hopefully Spanish 2 B next yr.

I was jus wonderin how much itll be a part of my college apps if im trying to get into competitive colleges with pretty decent core classes and GPA. Also if a P in fresh and soph yrs will disqualify you for anything later on.

National Honor Roll is worthless and a scam, why would you mind being disqualified form that? Also, if you dont believe me, search "national honor roll" on this site and you will find that it is indeed worthless entirely to colleges and is just a scam to get money.
