Which looks better on a transcript, a pass (which is the equivalent of a C anyway) or the actual C? I am going to take jc classes this summer and I have that option. I don't want to look like a chicken by taking pass/fail, but I can't help but think if I'm the person who ends up getting a C.

i have a question on that issue too... why do schools offer that? how is it in anyway advantagous to you if you took pass/fail??? does it... not get calculated in your GPA or something? because, other than that, u have everything to lose and nothing to gain by taking pass/fail... you have to get a C anyways, and if you end up getting a B, isnt it a waste to take pass/fail? it's not like... you can get a D- and have a "pass" written on there. i think they should change the rules... hahaha... D- is pass for pass/fail... because who in their right mind would WANT, who in their straight mind SHOULD, take pass/fail?

my school doesn't allow pass/fail except for our physical education classes. some students here don't want that PE class, which is unweighted, to affect their academic gpa. pass/fail does not get calculated into their gpa. other than PE, the counselors strongly do not recommend taking pass/fail. even if it's a C, letter grades are always best on transcript.

My school considers a 70- to be "fail" so it is a D-...but anyway, no, it does not affect your GPA...how will colleges view a "pass" in a non-academic class, by the way?
