Pathetic grades, can I get in

Hi.

To begin with, I've seen some smart people post about their chances at schools like Duke and whatnot. I am not one of those students.

While some of the people on here ask if they are elite enough for an Ivy league school, I am not.

They are the upper crust of academic society, the future political leaders and Ferrari owners, I am the lower crust darn-close-to-retarded-bound-to-own-a-car-with-a-negative-Blue-Book-value-refuse of academic society.

Enough self-loathing. I want to transfer to Appalachian State university. Easy to get into, if you are even slightly good at this "school" thing.

I have a 2.3 (ish) GPA. In high school, I had a 3.2 (not that it mattesr anymore). I had a 1240 on my high school SAT (this was in 2004, so it's the 1600 point test). I have some credits from the Comm college classes I've been taking.

So, do you think App will accept me? It's supposed to be easy to get accepted to, but a friend of mine who applied as a freshman last year (had a 3. something GPA) was put on a waiting list. Prestegious App, right?

I'm looking to Transfer to App as a Junior for a Computer Science Major.

Also, Western Carolina University accepted me for the same program. Don't laugh.

If thou wouldst be so kineth as to read my filthy street-urchin posteth, I wouldst die of happiness thatst Princestoneth calibereth peopleth wouldeth readst the unworthy HTML that woth spawned from myeth dirty fingertips.

Lol, sorry.

I think you have a pretty good chance at transferring to Appalachian State University. A 1240 SAT and 3.4 high school GPA is better than the vast majority of students. Your lowish community college GPA could hurt you.

Not to worry, filthy street urchins are in vogue at many colleges. Just be sure to pull off the poor dumb me stance at the interview and you'll be a shoo in.
