What is pay like at the big four accounting firms?

$25-28 an hour starting for an internship at PwC. You get overtime pay too which should be 1.5x

I attest to those figures.

Are these general numbers for all of the Big 4? And wouldn't these numbers vary by which office one works in?

PwC as of 2006

biggbadwolfy's numbers I would say are spot on for the most part.

Yes, but is that for ALL of the big 4 or just for PwC? What about the other three? About the same? more? less?

About the same...

It will be higher in areas like New York City where the cost of living is much higher.

Do they give a housing subsidy/relocation pay in addition to the hourly pay?

Nope.

For the EY's and Deloitte's and and KPMG... similar salaries according to Vault surveys.

as an INTERN you make 50-56k a year? with overtime?
so are you saying fulltime you will be making more?
this is more than engineering interns?

You make that much pro-rated, yes with overtime. Full time you will be getting a package such as this:

$60K Salary
$5K Sign on Bonus
X for Bonus

Most employees have a CPA however. Once you move up the ranks and make partner, you get a very lucrative salary... although not as much as a Banker's.

my friend got an itnernship at E&Y for their auditing division... her pay was 22 an hour + overtime (didn't get much overtime).
