PC gaming in college?

Hey, I’m heading off to college next year and wondering about if people play games in college? First is if we would have time. Second is that would most roommates mind me bringing and playing on a PC? And third, what if I want to be talking to other people I play with online, would that be too annoying? I won’t do it late night or anything of course

People do play games in college; some colleges even have e-sports teams. Finding time to play games is really based on your time management skills and priorities. I didn’t have too much time to play games (mainly only on weekends), but I know people who have spent a lot of time playing games. IMO I don’t think people would mind you bringing a PC especially if it runs pretty silently and doesn’t take up too much space. And I also don’t think that talking to people online wouldn’t be too annoying (it’s like the same thing as talking on a phone) if you aren’t loud or saying really offensive stuff. I would suggest that if you do, then avoid really long gaming sessions because it could get annoying if it goes on for too long. But take this all with a grain of salt because this is something that you have to discuss with your roommate beforehand.

Personally, I wouldn’t bring a PC to college because I would be too worried about something getting damaged/stolen, it could be a hassle to transport/assemble, and I much prefer the portability of a laptop. However, I do know people that have gaming PCs in their rooms and are doing just fine, so it could work out for you. But seriously check out your dorm’s policies, utilities (ethernet), and talk to your roommate before making your decision.

Sure you’ll have the time, at the expense of your grades and extracurriculars.
