Anyone out there?

Good luck I hope everything works out. I am going in as a 11th grade repeat. Remeber Exeters yield is 70-80

what exactly does Exeters yield is 70-80 mean?

Me too! Exeter Waitlist! I applied to repeat 11th grade…
Exeter is my top choice!!! I am heart broken.

nevermind, silly question haha.
why are you heartbroken?! it’s not a rejection…

Also wait listed at exeter…

70-80 percent yield. I hope you guys all get in and join me for 2013

Thanks we hope so too.
Those of you who are waitlisted, do you plan on staying on the waitlist?

Could you explain to me what this yield is? I have no idea what it is and what its relevance to waitlist is. Could someone please explain all of this to me?

I think the yield is the number of people accepted who actually attend.
I’m not 100% sure though.

Yield is the percentage of accepted students who choose to attend.

I definitely plan on staying on the wait list.

I also applied to Exeter as a non-repeat 11th grader and I was waitlisted… I am most definitely staying on the waitlist! Good luck to you all!

Is the yield really only 70 to 80 percent? That sounds a bit low for exeter… but if it is, then this year should be a good one for waitlist people. =)

^ actually, (and unfortunately for me, who was waitlisted) it’s one of the highest in the nation :p

Still… that means that 20 to 30 percent of waitlisted people get to go?

Hooray for WL people!

I hope I get off of the waitlist.

Me too man

@ eternaltime
nope, yields usually hold steady, meaning exeter knows to anticipate a 70-80% yield. so if they have 100 spots they’ll accept around 125, in order to account for the 20-30% drop-off rate (students who matriculate to different schools) as shown by their yield.

i believe the only way waitlisters get off is essentially if they (the schools) overestimate their yield or if they lose their only underwater tuba player and need another one, who also happens to be on their waitlist.

Which grade are you applying to??
