peer rec

Is it possible to have a peer rec written by a sibling? In Williams peer evaluation, they state that "Your peer can be a friend, classmate, teammate, sibling" but in Dartmouth app, they seem to imply that they want words from a friend. I'm an international student and my best friend is not that good at writing in English. Help, please!

bllp:

Please note that Dart does not care about grammar and proper writing for the peer rec. They want a different perspective that a colleague could only provide. My S was accepted to D and his peer rec was written by his friend that takes English as a second language. It's the perspective that they are seeking; they are not accepting the peer recommender.

Good luck.

but to answer your question, its fine for a sibling to write the peer rec...my friend did that and got in

they care about the content, instead of the recommendator's English skills.

i have a question about peer rec..you know that peer rec form asked your friend to write about you on the opposite side of the page rite? Would it be ok if my friend types it and attach it instead? I just wanna check coz it says that write everything on the opposite side..Does it mean my friend has to write it by hand. what if it's not long enough for her recommendation?

Typing it and attaching will be just fine!

Why do they want to see in the peer rec? Like is it best if it just says all the things I'm good at, or should it point out some of my weaknesses too, to show that I'm human.

anyone have any ideas....

anyone.......please.....

I asked my best friend to write my peer rec and when I read it my heart absolutely melt. He talked predominantly about my good qualities and the great relationship we have with each other but without turning me into a super hero. It was quite balanced and you could sense that he was being honest. I loved it! So what can I tell you? The peer recc should be vivid and ultimately make you look good, but genuine. And it should have anecdotes! Good luck!
