College Board says that we need to use No. 2 pencils for multiple choice questions. However, I used a normal pencil to do AP chemistry exam and AP CS. I think i marked all the answers quite completely. I am not sure if there is any trouble like computer can not read my answer for multiple choice part.

Does anyone know anything about this ?

Thank in advance

P/S: I used a 134-HB yellow pencil

AP Computer Science A exam is tomorrow, and the entire test requires pencil. So don’t worry as long as you used a No. 2 pencil, the pencil should say so.

I am from Asia. I already did AP CS 10 minutes ago.
I didn’t use a Number 2 Pencil
Was that ok ?

If it for sure wasn’t a number 2 pencil, there may be a problem.

I think you’ll be fine, HB corresponds to #2

Yes, No.2 is the same thing as HB except in American Customary Units (we like to be special).

Honestly though, I doubt it matters that much what kind of pencil (say No. 3) you use, they just don’t want to be held liable if it doesn’t scan. My school owns it’s own scantron machine and it doesn’t care what marking you use. Of course the CollegeBoard one is more industrial but same point.

Thank you guys for reply

correction: its, but the edit deadline has passed.
