Pending after notifying UCLA of a dropped class.

Wow, it got so silent after I posted my GPA. LOL. I have also done lots of activites. Was secretary and then president of the largest club at my school (250+ members). Completed 100 hours of community service and worked and am still working part-time.

Wow, calling yourself lucky is an understatement. Many would die to be in your place right now.

Anyways, don't give up hope. I'm sure there is some way for you to keep your acceptance.

Awesome! After 2 hours of calling, there is a sign of hope. UCLA admissions officers make me laugh. Then again, they are probably the same at alot of Universities w/so many applicants. 1st person I call says that the only thing I can do is appeal (just like a student who was never admitted). She said to appeal by June 1st regardless of my situation. I found out on the website (doing my own research) that it is 3 weeks from the date of rejection if you get it late (as in my case). Second time I called (I know i'm very persistent) I was on hold for 15 minutes listening to music and the "an officer will be with u shortly, blah, blah". The phone finally started ringing for (no joke 20+ rings). LOL. Finally, it hung up on me. I called again, this time the senate committee of UARS (top people I believe). A lady answered and told me that I reached the wrong department (LOL). Then I called admissions again and finally talked to someone who was helpful. Apparently there is a "secret" phone number to call specifically for students who have had their admissions withdrawn. It's a voicemail where u leave your UCLA id, name, and #. I will probably receive a phone call next week (wish Memorial day was in July) so I can present my side of the case.

McChowder your heart shows how much you want UCLA. I, like you, went through a lot by putting my appeal package together. I hope we both get in.

Yea. Best of luck for both of us. Wait! What's your major. It better not be bizecon. J/k.

nope, i'm going for the life sciences, haha

thats great chowder. good luck

chowder, i honestly don't think that incomplete should have resulted in la rescinding your app!! that's terrible. did you explain the situation to them when submitting it on the provisional form?? they should have understood, especially if you're going to take the final soon and get a B in the class.

btw, did you have to call to find out that they rescinded you? couldn't you have checked on the website (it should say something else besides telling you to wait 15 working days). I am also waiting for a result after submitting my grades last quarter and was wondering if i could just find out from the site or do i have to call in? thanks!

My provisional admission contracts says i have to get a C or better in coursework requirements. It also says notify immediately of any incomplete grades which i did. I would think this rule was made for people who got I's their spring semester. I'm taking the final on the same day other spring 06 students are. If they still decide to withdraw my admission, I am gonna burn down the school. Gas prices are over $3.50 a gallon, but it's gonna be worth every penny. You UCLA students better hope I get re-admitted or you won't have a school to go to. LMAO. J/K. I'm way to nerdy to do something like that. Watch; someone is gonna think i'm serious and the F.B.I. are gonna bust into my apartment w/their special forces. LMAO. What i'm really gonna be doing if i get rejected is crying like a little B*tch. LOL

Just to let you guys know, my counselor is a biatch. I'm sure she was the reason why I got my admission withdrawn. She was so rude to me on the phone that I was unable to tell her my situation. After I asked if I should take the final later for a ensured "B" rather than a "C", she cut me off and said she was gonna send my app. to a committee. She said "REFER YOUR APP. TO THE COMMITTEE". I called back the next day and she told me not to call her until friday(today). maybe i'm repeating myself. I CAN STILL LOG INTO URSA BUT NOW I HAVE A HOLDS ON MY ACCOUNT as of yesterday (THUR). And she said she was going to call me to let me know my status. LOL. She said she checked yesterday and didn't see any changes (LIAR!). The 15 DAY PERIOD was B.S. in my case. I submitted my significant changes on 5/3. Today is 5/26 so it took 23 DAYS. Now, on my admission decision page, it reads:
We are unable to provide your status information online at this time. You will be notified of any status changes in writing.

If your name and contact information listed above is incorrect, please notify us.

UCLA Undergraduate Admissions
and Relations with Schools

SO MY ADVICE TO YOU IS CALL THEM. IF YOU SEE THE ABOVE MESSAGE, welcome to my world. LOL

Good luck and hope we all get into UCLA. I forgot to mention that on Monday, my counselor told me that she had to refer my app. to the committee because she was not able to hold on the my app. any longer. Come to think of it. Many of you are still waiting for a reply for your 'significant changes'. Does that mean that your counselors are still holding your apps.? If so, I am gonna be really mad (at my counselor) because that means she was lieing to me; she didn't have to send it to the committee then. I am usually a calm and laid back person. But I (and many others who post on CC) feel that I have been wronged and not give a fair chance to maintain my admission. I think I have only a 40% chance of being re-admitted. For some reason, I believe that they will use the loophole in the provisional contract and not admit me because of the "Incomplete". No offense to you people who have dropped a required course, but I think an "I" is better than a F, D, and even a W.

yeah i know what's it's like to call them. I spent long time on hold and didn't even receive info that i was looking for. I don't even know if i will receive credit for this course since there is no articulation for my major.

And I don't even know if UCLA will take away my admission since i didn't get anything yet.

As long as your admission decision doesn't say the same B.S. as mine, you are safe for now. Hopefully it will change from that 15 days B.S. to the Congrats.

I would like to take back the statement "CALL THEM". Only call them if they call u first. For those of you who think there is a possibility they might withdraw your app., plz look at your second school. Look what they did to me! LOL. June 1st is the deadline for UC SIR's. I plan to submit mine for UCI on that date. I don't want to mistakenly submit my SIR too early twice. As of now, I have lost $100 (non-refund deposit) and alot more.

Has anyone else appealed to UCLA? I did and I'm playing the waiting game again!

chowder, may i ask who's your evaluator? I hope i don't have the same lady!!!

I have R.INks???? she seems great, i wonder who you guys have too.

What is so ridiculous is that my evaluator never gave me her name. That goes to show how impersonal she was to me. I got her name from another admissions officer who told me Cassandra was handling my case. I had to go to the UCLA directory and match the phone # Cassandra gave me to find her full name and department. LOL. I dont want to say anymore because I have been calling her a biatch on the thread. You have her first name so I think you should be able to figure it out.

malishka31
i have rosemary inks too!! i haven't talked to her personally, but i'm glad that she seems nice. hopefully she'll consider my application and won't withdraw my app!! can you tel me more about her? did she try to help you so that your admissions won't be revoked?

chowder:
wow she didn't even bother to tell you her name?

Wow I feel totally ignorant. Are you allowed to follow up on your application and speak to the person who evaluated your applicatioN?
