Pending after notifying UCLA of a dropped class.

You didn't report them all??? Ewwwwwwww, i'm gonna tell on you.

interesting..................

"The Persians at my school have the most elaborate, oraganized cheating system I have ever seen."

Since it's all in the past, this is absolutely true for Persians at Santa Monica College. One guy showed me chem midterm exams dating back to 1992 and they pass copies of those exams amongst each other like wonder joints. Their support network is by far the most elaborate I've ever seen. :D

i also vouch for the persian network thing....cheating among themselves is widespread...in both of the CCs I attend

i reporeted them all, sorry you cant have my spot,........... i went to 5 ccs for 5 years and have 19 w's and i got in.

why, i dont know

malishka:

i have another question for you (sorry for the numerous questions =) ). regarding m.inks, how long did it take for her to respond to your provisional problem and since when did you recieve a response? i attempted to email her two days ago and got an auto reply saying that she's out of her office from may 19-may 29. i was wondering if thats why i haven't heard from ucla yet. thanks!!!

well, i never emailed her directly, i submitted my changes through that change form, and that was on 5/5 or so and about two weeks later i got a postcard.

my current problem i sumitted just this past monday and i havent heard anything yet.

But if you sumitted your problem through that "provisonal contract problem/report changes" thing then it will go to R.Inks eventually , so yes that is why you havent heard anythign yet, b/c she isnot int he office.

Is there anyone on thin ice with Berkeley? It seems like the only ones having trouble are the UCLA people. Maybe UCLA just has more or a defined process than does Berkeley.

^my only requirements were to earn a 3.0 for Spring, no drops, no grade below C.

Same here; I was just wondering if there's anyone who had to tell Cal about a dropped class or whatever and is dealing with something similar to Malishka et al.

LOL Nicopico. SMC is the school I'm talking about. HAHAHAHA! So u seen those old exams too. I should have tried to pass myself off as a Persian so I could get access to their network. LMAO.
"Hey, whats up guys. I'm Persian too. Can I see that test?"
"How come you're so short and have such slanted eyes?"
"I'm from S. Iran, you see".
LMAO

Are you asian, McChowder? If so, what kind?

McChowder, i go to smc and i knoq exactly what u're talking about. LOL

i have a concern regarding the whole provisional admissions thing too. basically, i recieved 3 c's and a b last quarter from the following courses:

o-chem: c
bio: c (i found out recently that this course isn't required for my major: chemistry)
physics: c
calculus: b

that dropped by gpa from a 3.26 to a 3.01. whats the chance that my admissions will be rescinded? i'm currently taking ochem, bio and physics this quarter but at the next sequence. do you think my evaluator will give me the benefit of the doubt and see how my grades are this quarter first before rescinding my admissions? thanks!

I posted this question before, but no reply. Is there an actual committee that reviews admitted students applications like my evaluator said? Or is it arbitrary and the evaluator has the final word? Because my evaluator was such a biatch, I think she had a large part to do with my admission withdrawal. Yes, I'm Korean. Lilazn, it is hard to say. I THINK that it all depends on the leniancy of your conselor/evaluator. Good luck. And good lord! Do UCLA admits like posting more than other school admits, or does UCLA have a habit of pending applications?

Your counselor is R. Inks, right? I think you should be fine considering all the nice things i've heard about her. Just make sure you know for certain by June 1st. I would hate to see you go to some horrible school like CSUDH because UCLA pended your application too long.

yeah, my counselor is r.inks but that doesn't necessarily mean that i'll be fine. i'm not sure how the whole admissions process works either. wonder how big a role the evaluator plays.

I can still log into ursa and myucla. In fact, UCLA has sent me another postcard regarding housing. I hope this means something, but probably not. I can't wait until tomorrow so that I can talk to r. inks. Haven't been able to study very hard because of this whole situation. I bet I could even sue the school for breaking my Provisional Admission Contract. (see post 141 on this thread). I wouldn't want to sue the school; just get my counselor fired. I would hate to see her do what she did to me to someone else next year.

chowder, yea i can also log into ursa and myucla too! in fact, i turned in my sir to ucla during this period. i really want to attend ucla and ONLY ucla!! =( i really hope they don't rescind my admissions, because that would mean i won't have anywhere to go. r. inks would be back tomorrow yep. i think i'll be getting my results....

Good luck to both of us.
