very decent, well-written essays and two very special recommendations

applied to penn, darmouth, hopkins, lehigh and bucknell

do I have any chance at any one of these schools?

JHU is a match because your GPA is pretty good, you did alot of unique and very enriched EC's, good teacher recommendations and you can put the cherry on the top with those essays. Only thing that might weaken you is the SAT I, as it is a bit low but other wise you are a match because I applied (and got deferred) from JHU EA and during my interview I know that the folks at JHU always wants people who are not only just smart, but also does many EC's and Community Service.

From that perspective, I'd say Bucknell is a match-safety, Lehigh is also a match-safety (You might have a better edge than my application :P ). I don't know much about Penn or Dartmouth but all I can say is that it might a slight stretch.

you have excellent ec's in my opinion. Your scores are pretty good and your essays and recommendations look like they will help. Your variety of schools looks like you will have a good chance at some of them. Good luck.

I think you'll get into bucknell and lehigh almost for sure. Hopkins is within reach because your gpa is amazing. Penn and Dartmouth are possibilities, but obviosuly are reaches because they're crazy.

Penn and Dartmouth are big reaches, even with your GPA and class rank because your SATs are well below the median for both schools. Hopkins is a reach for the same reason, though not as big. Bucknell is a high match. Lehigh is a low match, almost a safety. My guess is you'll be accepted at Lehigh, and probably at Bucknell. As for the other three, my guess is the best you'll do is get wait-listed at one.

do you mean penn state as in penn state university park? i dont know why everyone is saying its a reach, but with your grades and scores, it is easily a safety school for you.

strong in every part except scores (not that it's not strong, it's compared to your other stats) if your scores improved, you have good chances everywhere (but remember ivy's are reaches for most ppl)

i dont think hopkins looks too closely at sats. your gpa should defiently be enough
i know someone with a lot lower gpa and lower sats score that got in
