First off - thank you for helping a stressed-out senior!

I accidentally misreported an award/honor on the Common App, so I called the Penn admissions office. The adcom told me to email Eapps with the correction, so I sent an email to Eapps (one month ago.)

However, Eapps never replied back. Does this mean they ignored my email? Or they never received the email?

I'm afraid that they'll Google the winner and think I'm lying - then immediately shred my application for the reject pile! :O (Technically, I understated the award...so it's not as if I exaggerated something to my benefit.)

What do you suggest? Should I call them or email them again?

If – and it’s a big “if” – anyone at Penn does independent research to confirm an award in your application, there is no chance that your application would be summarily rejected without some major effort to understand why they couldn’t confirm what you said, almost certainly including going back to you for clarification. But it would never likely get that far. If you did get some kind of similar award, and there’s any trace of that on the web, anyone backchecking your application would find it easily. No one is going to think you are a fraud.

And that’s assuming that your e-mail got lost. As long as your name and identifying number were on the e-mail you sent, it made it into your file and will be there when the application is considered.

ED applicants have lots to be nervous about at this time of year, but this isn’t one of them. This is an issue you handled correctly a while ago.
