Oops!

OK, I need advice here…

I was accepted at Penn ED last Dec. That was a bit of a surprise and I had already sent out a lot other applications to other schools, so just as instructed, I withdrew them all and enrolled at Penn, sent the deposit, etc.

But now… I just received a Fedex package from UM this morning with an offer of admission!! grrr… apparently they didn’t withdraw my application at all, despite numerous emails and despite the fact that the online log-in “myUM” previously showed my application was cancelled.

I immediately called them to let them know I’m won’t be enrolling, that I had withdrawn, etc… They said OK, just don’t send the reply card and it will be fine. So, this was obviously a misunderstanding. Do you think I’ll get in trouble with Penn because of this? heeeeelp… :S

I think you should call at Penn's office and inform them about this situation. They will understand it.
:)

Do you have copies of the emails? If you do, then you have proof that you attempted to contact them. I don't think Penn will have a problem anyway. I think that rule is just to make sure people don't get in ED at one place and then, after getting a better offer, withdraw from the ED saying that it costs too much or something.

yeah, if uve already sent them the deposit and dont plan on going to um them u should be fine
