Penn EDers

3 weeks left.

How far you in the application process?

Part 1= submitted
SSRs (and info for counselor to write in recs)=in (but not submitted)
Teacher Rec 1=handed in (but not submitted)
Teacher Rec 2= to be handed in tomorrow
Part B=done with all except essays

Finished drafts of two essays which are doing the proof read rounds. Hopefully finish that off next week (After SATs) and submit part B by start of the week of 23rd. After that, see that teachers/counselors have handed in everything. I will then finish off the supplemental info (either a research draft or activity sheet) and beam it off to Penn by Nov 1st.

Heres to hoping it all falls into place properly.

It's scary to think that they make decisions in almost 2 min. (I am referring to that one article)

Well the regional representative reads the application in 20 mins and then the pitch and decision is made in 2-5 mins. So yes, our fate for 4 years is determined in 22-25 minutes. 36 days until December 14th (when last year's decisions were released).

I am getting a leprechaun to dance around me on that day as I check my decisions. Please let that be a good, lucky day.

I hope I get an interview!!!!!!

When do they typically schedule interviews? I am in NYC so I know there are enough alumni here.

I am not sure. I think they call you when they want to schedule one.

I am applying ED. I didn't send in Part 1 yet. Is it completely necessary that I do that ASAP?

let's see,

I've sent in part one and the confirmation letter/picture
My teachers/guidance counselor/supp person have all my info and are in the process of writing hopefully uber sexy recs

And for part two I've done pretty much everything except for the two little short answers, and the actual me + Penn = love essay. --Should get on that one. But AH!! I'm so pumped. Penn is gorgeous and seems like a great intellectual but social atmosphere. Work hard, play hard, woo.

Edit: and in response to the question above, I think it's probably a good idea. It shows how early on you've committed >> how interested you are. I mean in the long run it'll end up being a minor detail, but if it could potentially send a more positive message I'd do it just in case.

I have my interview this Saturday.. 2 hours after the SAT2's!

For some reason, I actually did not get a confirmation postcard that they received my part 1. I did hand in my signature form. However, I received the fin aid forms. Did everyone else get their postcard already?

chaotic how did you get the interview infomation? when did you send in your form 1A?

mahras2: I did get a blue postcard from penn saying that my app is complete. I think that means they got form 1A. I got that a little beofre I got my fin aid stuff.

Hmmm...don't think I received that. I need to call them up tomorrow.

BTW> We should definitely hold like a chat on AIM after saturday SATs/SAT IIs.

Yea. It is hard for me to contact penn. I live in the central time zone and I have school when the admissions office is open. When I come home it is closed.

I live in NYC but I go to my internship straight out of school and get out at 7 or so. I should be able to call tomorrow though.

What all do we receive from Penn regarding the status of our applications? According to last years threads, we get a blue card (for form 1A), then we get a yellow card (when everything else is in) and I also think we get our pin numbers as well. Am I leaving anything out?

ahhh less than three weeks...as scary as it is I think it is also a relief to know that by then there is NOTHING more we need to do...or CAN do with the application.

I submitted part I this past Friday but I didn't mail out my signature sheet until Monday...I haven't gotten anything in the mail to confirm that they have gotten Part I, though I did get an email thanking me for submitting it online...

The rest of my application is pretty much done yet not ready to be submitted quite yet... I feel like it will never quite be finished! It feels like the essays can never be completely done...I am also waiting on one teacher rec.

Good luck on SAT's and SATII's! I am taking two on Saturday....yay for being done with the collegeboard! (well for SAT things at least)

I did get the blue postcard. It got stuck inside the Economist. Awesome, so I have that covered.

hey mahras, how long did it take after you submitted the written confirmation letter for the postcard to come??
