@YonceKnowles I’d be extremely surprised if they didn’t
@screenjunkie Duke’s physics department seems pretty tiny, with a lot fewer opportunities for research than UMich. I’m not sure if I would like it. I also changed my mind about staying in the south for the rest of undergrad. :))
From the info I read, Duke’s transfer acceptance rate was something like 10%. I wouldn’t be surprised if it were 5% though.
If costs were the same, then yes, I would probably choose JHU. UMich gave me a really good financial award though. I’d only have to pay at most 10k a year to attend, not even including loans, scholarships, or work-study. If I have to pay full price or substantially more for JHU, I don’t think the increase in ranking/prestige would really be worth it. We will have to see.
@chanceme2014 I go to a local commuter uni near my home. It’s a relatively new, unranked, regional uni; practically unknown, though accredited and decent. I actually get paid to go here (rollover scholarship money), but it doesn’t have a physics major so it’s time for out.
from WashU as well…
@Transfersquared wow, good to see someone in the same boat as me. It seems like everyone loves it here but me.
Nice to know that there’s someone on the campus like me!
When did last year’s applicants get an official word on the notification date?
@darkrum Last years thread someone posted on April 21st that they knew they were announcing May 5th so we’ll probably know soon
Gonna try and keep this thread alive. Anyone have news on decision date? Penn transfer is seriously dead compared to a lot of other schools. Come on out, you guys, we all know you’re out there!
IIRC If it works the same like last year, then it would be the second upcoming Monday (May 4th).
@ivyleaguefan thx for the info. you a fellow applicant or former transfer?
Did anyone else’s checklist disappear on the portal?
@timidnotion yup I can confirm.
@timidnotion Me too but I haven’t got my midterm report since Quarter system we are just week 4 there is nothing to evaluate. I am worried this fact might influence something.
My checklist also disappeared in the portal
The end is near.
If only that meant decisions were coming sooner than anticipated…but yeah, last year was Monday May 5, so this year will probably be similar.
Wow, May 5th still seems pretty early to me haha. Was expecting around a week later than that.
Yep, materials disappeared.
waiting…just waiting :-<
Does anyone know if admissions is based off of a rolling basis??
@chanceme2014 nope.
