@chanceme2014 I think it’s all in once in early may
My checklist disappeared as of today.
Although I know it’s unlikely I will be accepted as a transfer into the traditional BSN program with my stats, I had to give it a shot, I am a Hispanic legacy applicant after all. Everyone I know is infuriated with me because I didn’t apply ED but I honestly didn’t think I had a chance. I eventually applied and I’m hoping for the best. I know that Nursing stats are typically lower than most majors but the number of accepted transfers is so small it’s still nearly impossible. Miracles do happen right?
@rvyuan @lucidkn1ght Yeah, looking at the past transfer threads, it seems like it will be released at once.
I’m asking because if you look at http://www.admissions.upenn.edu/apply/transfer-admission/faq and click the third question, it specifically states:
"When will transfer admission decisions be released?
Transfer admission decisions will be released beginning in mid-May and continue on a rolling basis thereafter."
@chanceme2014 I see, this is weird!
What do you guys think the acceptance rate for arts and sciences is? I know the overall for transfers is around 9% but I’m assuming thats skewed from Wharton’s disproportionately low acceptances numbers.
Roughly a week left - the thought of seeing the rejection…Penn is my one and only shot
@ivyleaguefan Sorry to hear that… I hope that UPeen could be less selective this year.
@Transfer1011 historically, the acceptance rates for the various schools are all around 8-9%. There is no disproportion to speak of. Expect a sub-10% acceptance rate for CAS as well.
@puncherkid its very unlikely, unfortunately
@screenjunkie Fully aware of that, I was just trying to be positive. What stats do you think will be good enough for a out-of-state students to get in, btw?
If chances weren’t already slim, I just read on the admissions page that Penn offers very few spots to junior transfers, which is what I am…ah well. Still looking forward to hearing from them regardless.
@puncherkid, I wasn’t under the impression that in state vs. out of state was much of a factor? It is a private school, after all.
@puncherkid @timidnotion correct in state vs out of state should be completely irrelevant for private institutions like Penn.
I’m in the same boat as you. Someone told me they call it the Transfer Torture. I refuse to lose hope though and I’m trying to stay optimistic.
@puncherkid I kinda feel there are fewer applicants or maybe they don’t like CC as much as last year? And they closed checklist section before I could get midterm report, a bit worried!
@timidnotion @screenjunkie All right, at least that gives me some hope since I’m an OOS. But I’m transferring as a junior at the same time… So I just wonder if Upenn requires us to have, like, extremely stellar grades?
@puncherkid depends on what you mean by “extremely stellar grades.” If we’re talking GPA, I’d say anything below a 3.5 (without special hooks) is probable an auto cut. I have around a 3.6 atm; I’m hoping my current school pedigree, testing, and extracurriculars will carry and balance that out. Hope that helped!
Do you think that Penn would grant an expedited decision a few days earlier for those of us that have deposits due for other schools?
@Transfer1011 no.
Are we expecting decisions early next week?
@screenjunkie I hope so! The wait is killing me
Just got the email, May 5th at 3PM
