***PENN REGULAR DECISION DISCUSSION CLASS OF 2019***

@Lkjh0987 I applied RD it is just that I am almost sure of a rejection from Jerome Fisher.

@bored1997 your stats are very impressive – that is why I was surprised to think you got a flat out rejection from jerome fisher

@Lkjh0987 I am international having great stats is a must but, I would still have to be lucky to get into any one of my top universities. My sis applied to some of the same uni’s and got rejections almost everywhere except Berkeley UCLA and Michigan ann arbor. She had better EC’s than me and around the same stats although my grades might be better a bit. So not expecting Jerome Fisher acceptance by any stretch of the imagination. Our school let’s us down a lot, though we get sparkling recs, the secondary school reports are not that well managed because I live in a fairly small town.

Just had my interview, and it went great. I think I did well in conveying my passions and interests but I really have to credit the interviewer, she was fantastic in letting the conversation flow and asking good off the cuff questions. Very thankful for getting such a great interviewer. I’m very sorry to those whose experience was less than stellar, but just remember not everyone even gets an interview so they can’t use the interview in the decision that heavily unless you really just bombed it.

Hey Everyone, I have my Penn interview this upcoming Monday! Any tips from those who have already had interviews? Thanks

Did you guys send in your 2013 tax returns? I didn’t notice it was due in 2 days!

@airspirit No i didn’t and the deadline is pretty soon! All this financial aid stuff is just really stressing me out -.-’ I just hope it all works out!

I haven’t’ received any interview request from an alumnus though I received an email from Penn in the beginning of Jan saying that interviews would be arranged. I am in the SF Bay Area… anybody else receiving interview requests here?

So I submitted all the necessary financial and institutional aid forms (which, by the way, was a huge pain), and I noticed that on the CSS Profile website and stuff it says the “priority date” was Feb 1st, but on the Penn site it says the deadline is Feb 2nd. Can anyone explain this?? Will I still get the same amount of aid?

DL43516,

I think you will be fine. As everyone says the hard part is getting in. Once you get in everything else kinda works itself out.

Does anyone known when Penn starts to mail out rejections & acceptances? Do they wait until April 1 or does one find out before that?

As of now, all decisions will be available on-line at the same time (probably at 5 PM EST, or thereabouts) on March 31st.

okay. breathe I have my Penn interview TOMORROW. its going to be via phone FYI, does anyone have any advice??? PLEASE HELP :-S :-SS

I had my interview on Thursday and it went really well. The guy even pretty much said that I was his favorite person that I interviewed because I was able to keep it casual and conversational. Just breathe! You all will be fine!

Does anyone know when the midyear report is due? My counselor hasn’t sent mine in yet.

@humbleapplicant You just need to send it in as soon as it’s available. Probably before the end of the month at the latest.

How do you submit the mid-year grades via the Common Application? I tried clicking on the application I submitted but it does not bring up that option.
Thank you for any help.

@studywiki‌ i think your guidance counselor is supposed to send the mid-year grades, same as he/she did with your transcript

PEnn has already admiited 55% of the incoming class in ED. RD is going to be a complete crap shoot

http://www.thedp.com/article/2015/02/early-decision-applications-fill-half-of-incoming-class

That should come as a surprise to nobody; LY was 54%.
