***PENN REGULAR DECISION DISCUSSION CLASS OF 2019***

Call me crazy and I have zero proof of this, but I think the Wharton interviews do matter. Maybe DD’s interviewer went rogue but he definitely gave the impression that persona mattered a lot.

@myyalieboy I hope Wharton interviews don’t matter as much, because my interviewer didn’t ask me anything about myself! She talked about her life, her children, her familial problems, her dietary issues, among other seemingly irrelevant topics. When I tried to bring up things about myself or questions about her experience at Penn, she would immediately change the topic. I left the interview feeling extremely confused.

Is there any portal to track application?

^yes

How soon after your interview did you get your acceptance? My daughter’s interview was a couple of weeks ago and we’ve heard nothing.

@AuntieFascist‌ Only a select few get likely letters, which are these early acceptances. Chances are your daughter will get notified March 31st.

This discussion was created from comments split from: ******OFFICIAL UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA CLASS OF 2019 RD RESULTS ONLY THREAD********.

@sjsprint‌ perhaps she kidnapped your real interviewer. So, sorry to hear that, whether I am right or wrong.

Thank you!

From the thread, it seems that likely letters have only been sent to CAS-accepted students. Anyone get anything from Wharton?

Has anybody received likely letter for engineering major?

@StevenToCollege‌ Yes, I’ve seen one on the Penn Facebook page. If you haven’t received one yet, i wouldn’t count on it. They do send out another small batch in March, but don’t count or worry on it too much.

@wilguen The batch of next LL’s will be of the same size as the first one (200) according to The Daily Pennsylvanian. But, @StevenToCollege It will mostly be dual degree applicants this time that will receive these in early march, this I am predicting because this was the trend last year.

@Bored1997‌ I am a dual degree applicant, but I was wondering how there could be 200 likelies for such small programs. If most of them were for dual degree applicants then you would be essentially rejected if you didn’t get a likely. Right?

@nandroida No there are many dual degree courses each with a 50-60 class. So no, even without a likely you might receive good news on Ivy day.

Do internationals receive LL? If so, is it in the second ‘wave’? Not trying to get my hopes up, few people receive them, just asking out of curiosity.

Yes most LL’s are through email so yes internationals do receive them, one posted he got a LL for CAS.

Thanks @Bored1997‌ !
