Penn State Admission Decision

I applied to Penn State on October 5th and I still haven't heard any decision. My SAT's are 2100 and I have a GPA of 95ish. I know I will get in but does anyone know why it is taking so long. My other friend with similar scores applied 3.5 weeks ago and already got his admission.

/shrugs/ My friend who has a similar rank to yours submitted her application in September and only got in a few months later. You can’t really tell with rolling-admit schools. But try checking the status of your application online to make sure you’ve submitted everything, and make sure you’ve submitted your transcript via your school and your SAT via the College Board.

If your worried about not getting in, don’t. I have lower stats than you and heard back about a week after my application was considered complete. Penn State does not do a “first come first serve” basis when it comes to reviewing applications. Some people who submitted theirs in August are still waiting. Check the box on MyPennState that says Application Status and it should say what they have recieved or if they are reviewing. Other than that, you’ll just have to wait a little longer. The second wave comes out late December usually

@drevills‌ If you review some of the other threads you will see that you are not alone. It’s very frustrating the way Penn State does their admissions because it is completely random. People who apply late November can hear prior to those who applied early September. My D has had the same status since Sept. 8th…and all we know for sure is she will get a decision prior to January 31st. That’s all we know. It can be really frustrating when you see others who applied way after you get their decisions, but it’s just the way it is. I’m sure Penn State has their process standardized internally. Unfortunately, there is no rhyme or reason obvious to the applicants. I am sure you will get in. I wouldn’t worry about that.
