Penn State University Rolling Admissions

OK, I'm a little worried now. I submitted my application last week but Penn State has yet to receive my transcript or SAT scores because Penn State takes time to process them. Since Penn State has a "first come, first serve" type of deal, would it jeopardize my chances of getting into the main campus if my application is completely submitted (for example) on Nov. 25. Or would it have been better if it was submitted, let say, on Nov. 5 because I know some people have already gotten their acceptance letters. Does Penn State review applications that are submitted early? Please tell me if my chances are jeopardize.

No they aren’t. As long as you have it all in by November 30th, you’re fine. After November 30th, it is harder to get into the program/school you want because thy have limited spaces in the class after that; Not impossible just harder.

My daughter submitted her application on Oct. 31st and heard back on Nov. 8 that she was accepted to main campus. Honestly, we were stunned that she heard so quickly. She applied to the college of liberal arts. Her friends that applied to the business school and other majors have not heard back yet, so it likely that is part of the issue for you. Like the person said above, the only thing that matters is getting everything there by Nov. 30. Good Luck to you!

My D asked this question specifically in the admissions chat and they said that there is “room” for everyone who applies prior to November 30th. Everyone who has a completed application prior to that date is considered on the same criteria. It gets harder after that date.

My D has had same final status (prior to the coming days status) since September 8th. Most people won’t start hearing until Mid Dec or later. A few lucky ones are hearing earlier! But don’t worry if you don’t hear right away. That’s normal.

Good luck!

Friend just got in two days ago with a 3.3 out of 5 and a 32 ACT. I am still waiting sadly :(
