Hey, I am going to be a freshman in college next year. I am currently in my last year of high school. I want to pick Penn State as a potential college. I want to major in Pre-medicine. Do anyone know which is the best campus for premed majors?
Main campus
One of the branch campuses may be a better choice, especially for the first 2 years, due to smaller class sizes, easier interaction with faculty, and less competition among students. Altoona, Harrisburg, and Erie (Behrend) are all good possibilities if you decide you’d prefer that type of atmosphere. They are also less expensive, especially for out of state students (~$10,000 less) than University Park (main campus).
Which would be your first choice if you were a pre med major out of, Harrisburg, Altoona, Behrend?
Probably either Altoona or Harrisburg. Altoona is closest to State College, especially convenient if you want easier access to football games and other activities on the main campus. Harrisburg has a more diverse student body and is close to convenient transportation (rail, air) to major cities. Behrend also has a nice campus with good programs but you have to like winter weather (lots of snow).
