Hey guys.. I have a 3.9 GPA and a 25 on my ACT and I was wondering if i would get accepted to PSU because it says that GPA is 2/3 of the admissions decison?

I would suggest taking either the ACT or SAT again if you want University Park. You still have a shot with your strong GPA. I would say a good shot for summer admission to UP and decent for fall. Also, the key to applying to Penn State (or Pitt or Temple) is to apply EARLY. PSU works on rolling admissions so you need to have everything in by November 30th (this year/other years have been earlier). I would suggest you start to work on your PSU application in September. Also you should put summer session as your second choice to fall session. PSU will accept a large number of University Park applicants to start in the summer LEAP program. You still would be in University Park and have 6 credits when starting the fall semseter.
PSU fills its seats early so weaker stat students that apply early have a big advantage even over stronger applicants that apply in December of January. Also PSU will not see your senior grades when making admissions decisions.
I am still deciding on PSU and two other honors programs. I had everything into PSU by November 7. Please note when you are meeting the deadline for PSU, EVERTHING including test scores, trancripts, and counselor page must be in. If you are waiting for test scores and concerned about the deadline send your earlier scores. PSU will automatically use your higher (one sitting) score.
Good Luck.

I’d say apply earlier then November. This past year, Penn State made its app available in Sept. My DD got her app in by the last week of Sept. She was accepted, along with other students from her school, when PSU sent out their first wave of decisions in early November.
