Penn Supplement Essay

Here's the Penn supplement prompt:

Which of the academic communities and social communities that now comprise the University of Pennsylvania are most interesting to you and how will you contribute to them and to the larger Penn community?

I'm not asking anyone to write my essay for me or give me ideas on what to write about, but could you guys tell me how I could go about thinking of ideas for this essay and writing it uniquely? Do i look at my extracurrics or read penn's website? once again i don't want anyone to tell me what to write about, just suggestions on how to go about figuring this essay out.

Thanks much!!

check out penn dean of admissions eric furda’s blog on ny times (there’s a link on cc). he basically answers your question, explaining that the supplement is basically the why penn? question. do both: read penn’s website AND think about how you fit into penn…and what you can contribute…

check out the different academic social associations on the UPENN page
there is a list and there’s a description to every association/community
and then figure out which one u want to get into and start writing reasons i guess
i’m doing this essay too… harder than i thought
did u do the 217 autobiography thing?

thanks much for the replies all. any other feedback?

cdld2008, yeah I’m working on the page 217 essay too… I tried to talk about my later life, reflecting on my accomplishments from when I was younger. I’m working on making it unique.
i’m a bit worried, the due date’s soon, i hope we all get this done soon.
