Right. It is just business; it is not personal. In fact, if every student that Penn has admitted immediately accepted a spot, they would have a problem, and about 1,200 more students than they were targeting.
By informing admissions of your decision to drop off the wait list, you are helping them work through this process more efficiently. They appreciate you letting them know. That is why they are asking candidates to update their status.
@jaymx97 damn congrats lol I would be almost positive yale would give more money. It might not be worth to stay on the list…but just my personal opinion.

Please reach out to us soon. Some of us are international students and, after acceptance, have to spend about a month to apply apply for student visas.
Well I haven’t given up though. I still hope to make it to Penn this fall!
