Penn waitlist class of 2019

@boomboom123 “I am pretty sure it is not awkward, because their yield rate is only 66%, they definitely receive a lot of email of not accepting spots.”

Right. It is just business; it is not personal. In fact, if every student that Penn has admitted immediately accepted a spot, they would have a problem, and about 1,200 more students than they were targeting.

By informing admissions of your decision to drop off the wait list, you are helping them work through this process more efficiently. They appreciate you letting them know. That is why they are asking candidates to update their status.

@jaymx97 May I ask where you committed?

In fact where did all of you commit, and do you plan to attend Penn if admitted?

@interest82 I committed to Yale!

Committed to Johns Hopkins, will most definetly attend Penn as long as it is financially feasible

@jaymx97 damn congrats lol I would be almost positive yale would give more money. It might not be worth to stay on the list…but just my personal opinion.

I’m pulling for you all! If it means anything, I withdrew from the College and accepted a position at Amherst College, so there’s one more spot :P.

Are they still calling people?

Hi all! New to this! So, what is the extended waitlist? When do you think we will know for sure about the waitlist decisions? (Thanks  )

I’ve lost hope

Has anyone been admitted since the last email that was sent to the waiting list late May?

Is anyone else’s application portal down…? Don’t want to get my hopes up for nothing haha

Mine is down as well… What does that mean?

I think they’re all just down.

Or maybe they are updating the site (perhaps some new notifications? )

If it is it’ll probably update at 5EST. aka in 8 minutes, otherwise it’s probably just a mistake.

My portal down as well.

My portal is back up but there is no update

Same here.

Dear Penn Admissions, I believe you guys follow what goes on here.

Please reach out to us soon. Some of us are international students and, after acceptance, have to spend about a month to apply apply for student visas.

Well I haven’t given up though. I still hope to make it to Penn this fall!
