<p>How is PSU-UP with out of state need base financial aid?</p>
<p>For my major international relations/ politics or political sciecne it cost nearly as much for other in state students at other public universities with room and board.</p>
<p>if you qualify you’ll recieve fed grants (pell). You wouldn’t qualify for PHEAA because your OOS. Other than that, you may receive something need based grant from your college. Don’t expect much your freshmen year if your HS academics aren’t stelar.</p>
<p>Well right now my GPA is 3.625, take(n) ap, preps, honors… though my academics have been affected by my health issue right now ( food intolerance etc…).</p>
<p>I must say that there will be basically zero in need based financial aid based upon our experience this past year. There will be subsidized and unsubsidized government loans but not much more. Please know that is only our experience. My daughter is OOS, 3.9 UW GPA and a 30 composite on the ACT. She originally applied and was accepted as a Psych major but changed gears to a Toxicology/Immunology major.</p>

<p>FASFA is not a source for funding. It is used to determine eligibility for federal student financial aid (Pell grants, Stafford loans, PLUS loans, and work-study programs) and by schools to administer their own financial aid awards.</p>
