I believe a friend of mine went there.
She ended up quitting after a semester because of the insane rules.
That article only touches on the school's policies!
In addition to what they said, they have monitors (several per RA in each living area) who hand out demerits like candy and even follow students off campus. In addition, upon entry to the school, they have to sign a letter of intent stating their home-church denomination. They are then required to attend a church ONLY of their own denomination! ...And then they have to get a pastor's signature from that church stating they are attending regularly!
In addition, they are required to be in bed at 10:00pm AND all phone and internet services are shut down from 10pm-6am so they HAVE to sleep--NO homework allowed during those hours (during the week)!

When she got back for Christmas Break, we worked together one day and she asked me about my college since i'm going to a Christian college and was amazed that while I am required to go to 3 chapels/wk and to take some Bible classes and have very amicable professors and administration, the restrictions are really quite resonable here--men can't be in women's living areas/women can't be in men's living areas (i.e., wing in a dorm or the actual appartment in the appartments) after 10pm (week)/12am (weekend) for freshmen or 12am (week)/1am (weekend) for sophomores and up--on campus only (they're rez-life policies), and it's a dry campus (i.e., no drinking/drugs or being under the influence/high on campus--regardless of age).

...And we ARE accredited...so NOT all Christian colleges are bad. Some are actually quite good, but like any category, there are certainly bad Christian universities. Actually many of the best universities come from Christian roots (for example, USC), but most have lost that heritage.

haha acording to the wiki she's an alum, but apparently she posed on the cover of maxim. look at her spread (she's all the way on the left on both, I think)

She went to regent to get her mba, but they don't mention explicitly where she got her bachelor's in business. The link above for PCC mentions her as a "notable alum"

One of my friend played a prank on me and signed me up for their mailing list.
I het a brochere that said "satan wants you to attend a secular college"

Haha did that really happen? I might try it..

CULT - Any group which has a pyramid type authoritarian leadership structure with all teaching and guidance coming from the person/persons at the top. The group will claim to be the only way to God; Nirvana; Paradise; Ultimate Reality; Full Potential, Way to Happiness etc, and will use thought reform or mind control techniques to gain control and keep their members.

Any dissent or questioning of the group's teachings is discouraged. Criticism in any form is seen as rebellion. There will be an emphasis on authority, unquestioning obedience and submission. This is vigilantly maintained.

There will be total control over almost all aspects of the private lives of members. This control can be direct through communal living, or constant and repetitious teaching on "how to be a true Christian" or "being obedient to leadership". Members will look to their leaders for guidance in everything they do.

And why does their application ask for your height? Also, apparently the three main races are "White, Black or Oriental."

I think the parents keeping academic records question refers to homeschoolers (which I would be willing to bet many of their applicants are.)

I like how the question "Have you trusted Jesus Christ as your savior?" asks "When?" I could think of some pretty fun answers to that...

The most disturbing part of the application, though, is how "Have you ever seen a pyschologist?" is in the same category as drug use and criminal record.

laughing Good last point, gloaming.

I wonder what they would say if a female applicant said she was a single parent because she were raped and had given birth instead of having an abortion (a huge no-no in Christianity, right?) Hmmm....I wonder if they would condemn her or welcome her...

I sent an email to them asking if they served pork or shellfish in its dining facilities and this was the answer:

Dear Sir of Madam:
We thank you for your interest in Pensacola Christian College. We do serve pork and shellfish, but there are always other options to choose from in the dining hall.
If you have any further specific questions please feel free to e-mail us again.

It seems they take Genesis very seriously but Leviticus 11 is a part of the Bible they don't pay any attention to.
