Pensacola Christian College article--scary

"Have you ever used alcohol in any way....making eye babies....letter of explanation for divorces"....is this 1706??

craziness!

1706 was more liberal! This is like the Spanish Inquisition without the murder.

what i find odd, is that no where did I see anything regarding service to others, like Jesus wanted

only about saving people

as for choice, I really wonder, sheltered life, sheltered school- where to the students come from

and the website shows little, just enough to make it look sane

The Students come from all over the place. I was there, it is very deceptive. Most who are there ARE from sheltered lives. Growing up in Christian Schools, Home Schooled, we are taught to never question authority. Those who question are rebellious. PCC teaches you that you are not cabable of making your own decisions. You are not an adult there, you are treated as a child. You are controlled in everything you do. Some people can't take much of that. I was one of those few.
I was sheltered growing up , but my last year at home i had more freedom than i had at PCC. I was treated like an adult by my parents and had to revert back to a "child" when i arrived at the school. I just got to the point where I didnt' care anymore. You can only take so much treatment like that when you actually have a mind of your own and dont' believe everythign people say to you.

'Tis pretty amazing... I'm a student @ Bob Jones University(as you all gasp in horror) and believe it or not, it's been a good thing in my life, BUT...reading all this about Pensacola- holy cow, that's unbelievable. I've learned to adjust and deal with everything here, and it's been no big deal, I've never in any major trouble...the administration is actually pretty open to changes, and good things have happened...of course people will still think we're crazy, but whatever...
but WHOA, Pensacola is unbelieveable...we have rules that don't make sense too, but most of them are for the "greater good." Some of PCC's stuff is just bizarre... makes me feel free going here! :-) Keep it real.

Any university that recently had a policy banning interracial dating gets 0 respect from me.

Dude I feel bad for you.

This place might as well be the Guantanamo Bay Prison. I would hate going to this place. Oh well, University of Michigan has a better business program anyways, and I'm a liberal. I wouldn't fit in in Florida.

Pensacola Christian College is a racist and regressive institution. No college that forbids interracial dating, and fraternization between males and females is progressive in my book. Get over it. These PCC grads are going to have to work with females if they're males, and with males if they're females. They'll have to not only fraternize with each other, but they will have to WORK with each other and collaborate. This college is just ridiculous. It gets 0 respect from me.

Watch PCC mail me a letter of expulsion.
"But I didn't even enroll! I didn't even apply and I have no intention of applying!"
"Well you're still expelled. How dare you criticize God."
"Firstly, I'm atheist. I don't believe in God. And secondly, God has no physical form, and last time I looked a college was a physical form."
"Off to hell with you!"
"I told you, I'm ATHEIST!!!"
"What's atheist?"
"I don't believe in God. I believe there's no God."
"Ahhh~~~~~?!?!?" (appalled, faints)

it's not so bad, bro...pretty sure that we all live in a constant state of "if the admin. knew what I had, I'd be gone." that's just how it is...you live and deal. it's all good, and it's only 8 semesters...soon I'll be done. I've learned a lot though, believe it or not...we're not completely crazy. close, though. :-)

Out of curiosity, what made you decide to choose to go there in the first place? I mean, the way you're talking about it it sounds like you're essentially saying that you suffer through it and then it's over...if you feel that way, why couldn't you have gone to a, shall we say, less restrictive school?

with a better quality education, sorry but in the real world BJU only has influence in small government circles so like minded people

other than that, eh

Huh? (10 letters)

it's been in the family for a long time, but probably I would have chosen it anyway...family or no, because the education is top notch, and it's in a good environment...of course everybody thinks we're crazy, but for what I believe it works well. Once you get used to it, you don't really think about it...you just live your life and learn from whatever you can. It really is a good place...the world is full of different people....BJ's not for everybody...but some people it works great.

it was a pretty big deal when George W. Bush came here...pretty big influence.
But you're right, in general we don't have much influence. We like to think we do, but you're right...in the grand scheme of things, not really.

I think the school is incredibly frightening. I don't think I could imagine a more Orwellian-type place for young, impressionable students. All I can say is hopefully it doesn't increase in size and influence. Does the school even regard the Constitution? Looks more like a theocracy to me.

Right, but keep in mind that it became a big deal after he gave his speech because of the interracial dating ban. So it wasn't that George Bush was at BJU and it's a big deal, it was that a presidential candidate was at a school that banned interracial marriage and if you think of it that way it's a big deal for other reasons.

Oh boy, I would definitely have heaps of fun filling out the application.

me too....and you have 666 posts....ooohhhhhh

Pensacola Christian College is claiming to offer an engineering program in mechanical and electrical engineering, yet:
1. Still no accreditation. With no accreditation, a graduate of this institution can NOT get a professional engineering license in ANY state. Accreditation for such a program must be from NCEES (the people who write the exam)
2. Since my degree is in electrical engineering, I took a look at the curriculum. Typically in a good engineering school, there are choices in which to specialize in. Power systems, communications systems (which can be heavy in RF), computer systems, and control systems (which is my expertise, and control systems can also involve other engineering disciplines) are typical. No such at PCC, just a rigid syllabus.
If anyone here is considering engineering, I would not recommend this school.

If anyone is seriously considering this school, pay me 20k a year and I'll tell you what to do and organize your life + studies.

I'm not accredited but if you go elsewhere you will go to hell!
