They invited me to visit with the line "If your chucrch youth group isnt planning a visit, you and your friends can ask one of your parents to take you". They then said all guests must abide by the PCC dress code-knee length skirts and dresses only for girls and granny shorts for recreational activities. No jeans for guys or girls. They also addressed a letter to my parents talking about how to "Make sure your chil;d gets a Christian education"

Yeah, great way to generate my interest PCC. Patronization and Nazi dress codes for guests before they even enroll!

Please give me the name of an 18 year old girl that wants to be told she cant visit colleges without mommy and daddy with her and that she cant ever wear jeans or slacks

Its no secret that they have dumb rules like gender separate elevators, G rated internet filters, spies making sure students dont go to the movie/hug/hold hands, etc. But really, is saying "ask mommy to take take you, and be sure to dress exactly as we tell you" a good way to recruit students? My High School has uniforms, and we dont make vistors wear them to tour campus or eat lunch with the students. WE dont have things on our website that say "ask mommy to drive you to our school to come visit!"

Institutions such as these are chosen by two types of kids: those who have been brainwashed with religion and those whose parents are control freaks and love knowing that someone is watching like a hawk over their kids (particularly applies to unruly or delinquent ones).

lol. i know one. except the jeans part would have to be taken out too. I dont get what's so awful about jean material . . . she likes to wear long jean skirts . . is that also prohibited?

The name of the college is Pensacola CHRISTIAN College. At least they have some dress standards. You, apparently, have none at all. If you don’t like the rules you don’t have to go. For crying out loud. Go get a life and quit whining. For all you know, they may have those particular rules for prospective students to see what the reaction will be. They obviously want people there who are willing to follow the modesty standards of not only their institution, but the BIBLE! Moron. You must be an only child.

I have been a PK since i was 8. I am not brainwashed by anything. have you ever even been to church? i know what God wants from me and i like giving him my all. if that means absolutely no pants then so be it. I mean he DID die for me. But i guess that would be a moot point to you.

"Regulations govern many aspects of the residence hall students’ lives, including dress, hairstyles, cleanliness of residence hall rooms, styles of music (PCC only permits its students to listen to classical music, traditional Christian music or Sacred music), borrowing, off-campus employment, and internet access.

PCC also has strict policies regarding mixed-gender interaction. Physical contact between members of the opposite sex is only permitted under very limited circumstances. Written permission of the dean’s office must be procured for all off-campus meetings between members of the opposite sex. In addition, all mixed-gender meetings (on and off-campus), must have a PCC chaperone present.[7] Most stairwells and elevators on campus are segregated by gender. In the absence of being able to have physical contact, a fad has developed among dating students on campus where couples stare deeply into each other’s eyes. This practice by students is variously called “eye kissing”, or “optical intercourse” and is jokingly called “making eye babies.”[7] However, this activity is discouraged by the administration.

Other violations of PCC policy include the use of language considered profane or foul by the college administration, visiting movie theaters, patronizing unauthorized area businesses, being off campus after hours and being in another residence hall room after hours. Additionally, being in a residence hall belonging to a member of the opposite sex, the use of alcohol, or tobacco products, gambling, possession or use of pornography, engaging in any form of pre-marital sexual activity or any other actions considered by the college to be immoral, and engaging in social activities with members of the opposite sex as a group while off campus can result in immediate dismissal. The administration of PCC also reviews any reports brought to their attention of students behaving in a manner unbecoming of PCC ideals who are at home or away on school breaks while enrolled at the college."

I’m sorry but if you’re going to have a coed school I don’t understand why you would have segregated stairs. This is just my opinion but I find it a tad ridiculous to be dismissed from school if I engage in social activities with guys off campus.

Honestly, my first reaction is a big “w.t.f.” too.

But, PCC IS its own college, and can therefore set its own rules. Just like some people chastise colleges for being too lax with their students (-cough- Reed -cough-), others are looked down upon for being too strict.

If you don’t want to conform to such a conservative environment, don’t go. It’s simple.

Okay I’m looking through stuff about them and its all ridiculous:
They have room checks (for like if you made your bed and stuff)
After bed-time (“lights out:” 11:00 every day, including weekends) you may receive demerits for talking
You may not put up a picture of unmarried people in physical contact unless they are “little kids.”
Freshmen/Sophomore women must leave campus in groups of three or more. Junior/Senior women, in groups of 2
Men may not give their suit jacket to their date
Males and Females are to use separate public beaches
