People to People

Has anyone participated in the People to People program, particularly the Global Youth Forum? How was the experience? How much did the trip cost? Was there any financial aid? How was the application process? Was it very rigorous? Any questions and general comments/advice are welcomed.

Merci!

It's rediculously expensive. They send "invitations" to any middle- or high-schooler with above a 3.0 GPA.

I read an article about how People to People once sent an invitation to a would-be 13-year old boy that had been dead for 10 years.

Well, most programs that travel are (expensive). Is it worth it, though?

Also, what are some worthy summer programs with travel opportunities, particularly to Europe?

I know someone who went to Australia through them and loved it. I'm sure you could get in contact with some alumni if you email People to People. Good luck! :)

Thanks to those who've replied. Any advice on other summer programs?

I went to one in the states. It was the most awsome expirience ever. I met awsome people. It was about $2000.

Which one was that one, jsmall?
