I understand that Rice receives about 500 ED applicants. As with most schools with people applying ED, I'm sure that they are the cream of the crop. I was wondering however if anyone knew what percentage of EDer are out of state and what percent are URMs. I as because if they are both really low, then if you qualify then you should therefore have a better statistic of getting in than say a white Texan. I'm just worried because I have lower test scores, (1270/1870 + 750 Bio, 630 US History) and a low gpa like 3.4-3.5. But I have great EC's and an interview this Saturday.

being an urm (black or hispanic or native american, NOT asian) gives you an enormous advantage at college admissions at very selective college (except mit or caltech maybe).

I don't think anyone here will be able to answer this for you. Admission is based on a lot of factors. Relax, enjoy your interview and apply. And, good luck!
