People Who Say You'' Get In vs People Who Say You Wont: What makes you feel worse

I feel like Bowdoin is a long shot for me but people tell me otherwise. This scares me because I feel like one of us doesnt know whats what and that scares me…

I just decided to let the admissions officer tell me....

Tzar09 - you're in the mix but in the middle where you will be competing with similarly qualified applicants. The bottom line is that no one other than the admissions office can provide anything like a definitive answer. Your scores are good and your grades are solid (except for a weak freshman year that probably will be discounted based on your subsequent performance) but not extraordinary. You have lots of ECs but how much weight Bowdoin will give to them will depend on how you present them and whether they indicate a real passion in a particular area(s). So I would say your scores and grades get you out of the starting gate and on the track but whether you reach the finish line will depend upon what you say about yourself and your interests (in the essays and in the interview), what your recommenders say about you, and how you stack up against the many applicants who will have similar qualifications.

lol :D :D :D :D
