I will transfer as a biological sciences major and I was wondering if Rutgers will accept all of my science credits.(Gen Chem, Gen Bio, Organic Chem, Physics)
According to NJ transfer, they are all transferable. I will also be getting an associate degree.

My current college is Brookdale community college in NJ.

I’m transferring from a CC with an AS in engineering. I talked to some people who also did engineering at different CCs and they said all their credits transferred. Obviously classes like Precalc won’t, but if NJ transfer says it transfers than it does.

I am transferring from OCC in the Fall (with an A.S. in science). I haven’t got a transcript evaluation yet, but I know most of my credits should transfer since I picked them off of njtransfer, etc. This should be the same for you. I know RU has a limit-- although I’m not sure the maximum number of credits they will take.

I know that Rutgers’ website says to go on NJ transfer but when I looked at the academic department page for transfer students it says that those courses listed as transferable must still be approved by the division office. You might have to bring in a syllabus and argue with them.

Go by NJ transfer and try not to stress too much. If you’re truly getting your associate, then Rutgers is required by law to accept any courses that are viewed as equivalent on NJ transfer (and I know of courses being accepted which are not considered equivalent on the site.)

The department page you were looking at was probably saying that for the benefit of Rutgers students who want to take a course at a community college over the summer or some such. Once enrolled at Rutgers you are required to get pre-approval from a division office before taking a CC course to transfer back in. (I’ve seen this a lot with engineers taking Calc courses elsewhere over the summer)

They take 60 credits max in most cases caprisun.
