People who went to orientation;

What is "Playfair" ? (Someone said that was one of the activities that we do during orientation)

Did the orientation people give out free stuff? (like free pens, shirts, anything??)

And is the bookstore open so that we can buy UCR sweatshirts??

Thanks-

nothing free, except at the SOAR expo - student clubs and organizations give out stuff like pens and whatnot

playfair is just a big play activity where everyone messes around

When I went to orientation the bookstore was closed

If you are in BCOE, you get a free bandanna :)

anyone from CHASS??

what did you guys do? anything in particular that was interesting or boring? free stuff? lol, we all love those free goodies :D

Who’s going to the makeup session? Is that session for all majors??

What is the cheapest hoodie they have. Cause when I went there they like 50 buck but they were nice

Can we choose the class location? There are several of the same classes in different locations… o_o

The makeup session is for anyone, yes

You can choose any class as long as it fits in your schedule

Obviously though, certain classes of the same subject tend to be clustered in one area

Yeah, but if I have a 2nd class right after, I want the class to be as close as possible. lol. Trying to save some time, but my 2nd year ucr friend said you can choose the class and time but can’t choose location even if there are multiple classes with the same time. ):

yeah, you put in the call number for each individual class, even if it shares the same times with other classes

so, choosing a class with a specific location shouldn’t be hard unless it’s full

I thought the bookstore was open to us 7/1 and 7/2 orientation people? I got to go there after registering for classes. lol

yep it was open

Lol it was closed when I checked…dunno

Hopefully it’ll be open for the other orientations anyways

They let us go to the bookstore because we had time after registering for classes. I was part of the first group that registered first, so I guess they didn’t let people go after, due to the scheduled times. )):

bookstore? lol what is there to buy? not many people wear UCR on their sweaters proudly… just sayin… cmon its true.

haha cmon show some school spirit

lol. it’s kind of hot right now to where a sweater anyway…

When winter comes around, I’m gonna be rocking my UCR sweater. (:

I really don’t get it. Why go to a school if you’re not going to be proud of it? Wouldn’t it make you miserable to attend? I believe it is not easy to transfer either… so it’s 4 years of a school you won’t like… might as well go to a CC and transfer.

exactly! i bought myself a ucr shirt at orientation and i was showing it off to my friends lol

Speaking of school spirit, did you guys get that tartan pin thing?

Supposedly they wanna start a new school tradition with it

yea i did
its just sitting on my desk lol
