People with 2400 - any advice?

Uttaresh that is harsh bro. You literally omitted 4? Hopefully you had a math experimental.

Taking a class did not help me at all and I actually stopped going because it was such a waste of time and money. Private tutoring on the other hand was EXTREMELY beneficial and I know not everyone's parents are willing to pay for it, but if you can find a good tutor I would highly recommend it.

^agreed. Instead of taking classes, it's better if you just spent the money on practice books and kept taking practices until you figure out what's best for you. Unless you're not motivated enough to practice on your own of course.

I'm not sure about private tutoring but in theory it should be extremely helpful since the tutor will be able to focus on exactly what YOU should be doing to improve your score. I definitely don't recommend new college graduates from ivy's though. Those I've met usually have trouble understanding why everyone else can't get 2000s

Yeah, it is all about making your own strategy. Often, I've found that once I became well acquainted with the SAT, I began taking it in a completely different way than those sat classes recommend, and I did significantly better on practice tests. We'll see if my claim is not just an assertion on the 23rd. Nevertheless, self-motivation is the best way to get a really good score.

self-motivation is the key. ^ i agree =]

hey what books do you use to score high on the SATs...
im looking at barrons and princeton review.....what do you guys recommend?

Thanks

I'm quite confident of my ability to score 2400, and I think I can, but the question is, If I can score 2400 on the BB practice tests , am I able to do so in the real test?
It's confidence and ability mingled with the fear of the unknown.

^You are so weird...

Ouch, are you gonna retake utta?

I'm waiting for the result. If I get anything above 2300, then no. Below 2250, definitely. For 2250-2300 ... I just don't know yet. :(

LOL, I had 4 CR sections, but I'm hoping so too! :)

With 4 CR sections, none of your math sections were equating.

utta, u omitted 4 q in math and is still expecting 2300+? ur cr is like 780+?

I'm not... I meant hypothetically, by some weird miracle. I'm "expecting" something like 2250-2270.

:(( OMG :(( I will sell my own house and buy all of you anything if I can >2200
Anyway, CC is what? where can I find CC practice tests?

CC = This website. ;)

i know this is soo random, and shouldn't be posted on this thread..but i noticed that all of u are getting stressed out, and i can understand, so am i. but today my health teacher told me a story of a guy who really wanted to get into Columbia, but was rejected, and was depressed for 2 years. here's my advice: do your best, the more u stress yourself out the more pressure you're putting upon yourself, soo stop worrying and you'll do fine..nearly everyone on CC does fine...we just worry too much!!

Or you guys are just nerds who put too much emphasis on what college you go to! Just playing, but kind of...

What college you go to hardly means how successful you will be... look at Bill Gates who never even finished Harvard, or Steve Jobs. The most wealthy people in my family are the ones who didn't go to college. Seriously, just chill and enjoy life. Leave the fun schools to the smart people like me :)

I just wish to ensure I get into UCSB and my dream school will be set.
Just work hard in life, and hope you find your niche.

but most importantly, BE HAPPY. You can be a filthy rich doctor, but if you don't have a wife to penetrate you will be miserable.

one could make the argument that filthy rich equates to a wife, but I like to think humanity is better than that :) Or me just trying to justify my low SAT scores. Who knows. I could definitely get around 2200... but I don't have the will to. So for now, I sit at 1900... happy and content with my (hopeful) acceptance to UCSB ( the funnest school ever) in 2010.

^ Talk about random.

If getting 2400 had a solid formula, wouldn't more than a handful of people achieve it?
Come on guys, get real

it was actually a response to the above poster...that happened to go off on a tangent.

I meant both of you.
