With normal EC but not much? do we have a shot.. or do I have a shot? any transfer success stories?

GPA is not everything but it is important. Also, I’m not sure at which school you’re trying to have a “shot” at.

Your GPA depends on various elements which you have not stated. The school, the environment (do you work to support your studies, family obligations, etc), course load. In addition, the GPA varies in importance with the school and majoring you’re attempting to transfer to. Majors such as performing arts place more emphasis on auditions/portfolios rather than numerical grades. A 3.3 might be sufficient for one school but not for the next. As you there are numerous variables.

Too many factors. I would look very different at a 3.3 transfer applicant studying general studies at a community college versus a 3.3 transfer applicant from MIT who has been studying computer science or such. The MIT transfer I would imagine would have a decent shot at other top 20 schools, given a strong essay/reasoning or whatnot, while the community college applicant would be a reach for all such schools, barring unusual circumstances/essays/etc.
